“It is not everyday that I get to make a new friend.” Fawn to Lucy, The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe
Hello new friend. My name is Stacey. I’m so glad you are here. I’ve been thinking about you and praying for you. I know God has you here for a reason. He has me here, too.
If we were sitting across the table from each other, we’d be drinking coffee and eating something way too sweet. I’d say, “Oh I love your shoes!” You might ask, “Where are you from?” I’d tell you about growing up in the smallest of towns in Indiana and we’d find something in common and we would laugh together.
And then it would happen. The thing I love about women would take place. We would connect. We would encourage. We would share. Our time together would end way too soon and we’d promise to do it again soon. You’d leave a part of your story with me. I’d send some of mine with you. On the ride home I would replay every little detail of our meeting. I would smile.
What a grand thought, you and me together over coffee! But you know, our reality is a bit different. There simply aren’t enough hours in the day for chatting over coffee and the women who make me smile. I’m a mama to four very sweet girls. They keep me pretty busy lately. Breaks are rare and cherished when they come.
So what do we have, you and me? We have this place – a gathering of sisters. We have Jesus, and I believe He can knit hearts together over coffee, through Twitter, or during a Freshman dorm Bible Study on a Big Ten Campus. See, He knows our hearts and He delights in bringing new friends in our lives in many different ways.
My heart and passion is to meet you here once each month and talk about the stuff of life that we love. It will be fun to see how Jesus takes His holy thread and makes us sisters. You can be sure that I’ll be here. Will you join me? It is not every day you meet a new friend. I’d love if you’d be mine. And please, say hello in the comments so I can see your sweet smile?

Mary hey there! I was at Relevant – but I can’t recall if that was me or not. Hmmm…I could blame it on my cold medicine from last night!

WOW Stacey, what a great post!!!!! I would love to sit and have coffee and get to know you. I have read some of your things through following Tracie Johnson’s links to you and have loved them… and then I see you also know Judy Douglass~~what a small world….. I have just recently “met” Tracie, yet there is a long connection in our stories, and I was with CCC with Judy for 20+ years. So if these are 2 of your friends, you must be wonderful!!!
I look forward to hearing more of your heart.
be blessed today,
Carolyn
Oh Erin that is the best! I love that she invited you….and gave you a place to share your heart!
Love. Love. Love it!
Carolyn how nice to meet you! I can’t believe we haven’t met already? Sounds like we have already have more than one connection. How neat is that to find someone in this online world who can say “Oh, you too?”
See, God has already been at work weaving our stories together!
I look forward to getting to know you too!
Hi Stacey! I’ve hardly been online at all this week, but I just had to pop over here today. What a wonderful, beautiful post you wrote! And you’re right–it’s amazing what God does in the hearts of women. Aren’t we all blessed to be part of this amazing sisterhood? SiB founder, editors, contributors, readers–God will knit all our hearts together in ways that only He can imagine.
This post is a perfect reflection of how you are in real life. I wish we lived closer so those chats with coffee could happen. Thank you for all your encouragement to me and to other women. You are a sweetheart.
I’m so looking forward to coming here and visiting each day for inspiration and encouragement. Thank you to Denise and all the others for following your heart and the Lord’s leading. May you be blessed richly as I know we will.
Thank you Suzanne, we are thrilled to have you here as well, and pray God’s blessings on this endeavor.

Hi Stacey,
looking forward to connecting with others whose hearts share something in common ~ Our Saviour, Jesus Christ. I’ve shared the Sisters in Bloom button on my blog. So excited about this new friendship gained.
Thank you Karen for sharing our site by putting up our button – so kind of you.
Hi, Stacey,
Your post was so relevant to my experience today. A friend from church saw me in the hall of my sons’ preschool and asked how I was doing. Before I could respond, she invited me to join her for coffee (or Diet Pepsi, in my case) and we just talked and talked and talked, sharing the deepest of secrets, knowing that they would be kept in confidence, and creating a bond which now cannot be broken. I’m so glad to meet you and look forward to reading your posts and sharing our love of the Lord together.
Blessings,
Erin

Hi Stacey, so nice to “meet and connect” with you here. I’m very excited about Sisters In Bloom. My name is Rosann and my blog is ChristianSuperMom. I’m just a regular gal on a journey to glorify God as I navigate the sometimes choppy waters of motherhood. I’m also a newly published {okay…self-published} author of the book UnEMPLOYED Faith, which was a book I felt God really pushing me to write. It’s a book about my and my husband’s 3yr journey of recession related unemployment and all the emotional struggles that went with it. I also share the many ways I coped with those emotions so other women who are experiencing the same frustrations in their home can be encouraged and find fruitful ways to overcome the sometimes destructive feelings. Of course, our story ended in God’s blessings as my hubby was hired only days after my book publishing and we just celebrated our 10yr wedding anniversary. This kind of community is exactly the place I want to hang out for regular inspiration and encouragement.
Looking forward to getting to know you more!
Blessings,
~Rosann
Rosann thanks for sharing part of your story today! God is faithful!

I very much enjoyed reading your post. I was lead to this site through pinterst. I do not think that was by accident. God works in his own way.
Stacey, You are such a gift! I always feel inspired by your words and appreciated by your caring ways. Today, I pray:
Dear Lord, Thank you for Stacey. May she always feel loved as she has poured her heart and love out so generously for others. Wrap your arms around her Lord and keep her close, that your gentle providence in her life would be a sweet road map for her to follow. Bless the work that she does in the lives of women everywhere- that her infectious encouragement and joy would shine through it. May she always know that she is a gorgeous soul, radiant for you Lord…. Amen.
Thank you sweet girl!
Hi Stacy
Your posts are such a wonderful encouragement. Thank you for making me feel a bit less alone today.
